MCYA receives a $50,000 grant from Metro Nashville Arts Commission

Nashville, December 27, 2023 - It is with immense joy and gratitude that Music City Youth in the Arts announces the receipt of a generous grant from Metro Arts, a cornerstone in supporting and promoting the vibrant arts community in our city. This exciting development marks a significant milestone for us, opening new doors of opportunity and growth in our artistic journey.

“Receiving a grant from Metro Arts is a tremendous honor, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the organization for recognizing the value of our work and its impact on the local arts scene and beyond. This grant comes at a pivotal moment for Music City, providing crucial support that will propel us forward in our vision and mission”, said Mike Webb, Executive Director of Music City Youth in the Arts. He added "my sincere thanks to the Metro Arts Commission for the awarded grant, the funding will be put to immediate use in offsetting operating expenses for Music City Drum Corps"

One of the primary areas this grant will benefit is the acquisition of musical instruments, an essential component in our artistic expression. The funds will enable us to invest in high-quality instruments from KHS America (Jupiter, Mapex, and Majestic) that enhance the quality of our performances and expand the range of artistic possibilities.

In addition to instrument procurement, a portion of the grant will be allocated to cover operating costs, ensuring the sustainability and longevity of Music City Drum Corps. These funds will support the day-to-day activities that make our artistic endeavors possible, from venue rentals, marketing efforts, and administrative expenses.

This grant is not just a financial boost; it is a vote of confidence in our vision and a recognition of the positive impact that the arts can have on our community. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, and we look forward to utilizing these resources to create meaningful, memorable experiences for our audiences.

As a reminder to us all, support the arts locally, regionally and nationally.
